I do not understand how you get to this conclusion. In the past, AMD has done best when their x86 processor offering has been most competitive (the 5x86 and the K7, for example). Additionally, AMD is not doing that poorly compared to the semi market as a whole. They don't need a "savior" at this moment. They just need better marketing and, if they can't do that, a more competitive product line.

Ah, so you have copies of internal AMD data on this? Or are you just trusting Mike Magee on his word?
