Also realize that the i850 (and later i850E) will be around for those requiring the highest performance.

I have to admit, I have not followed the Sis or Via P4 chipset performance, but I seem to recall that they matched or beat 850, so those requiring highest performance will either get Athlon XP, or P4 with the faster chipsets.
