AMD probably would have been better off keeping their profitable divisions and not fighting the Jehad.

The divsions that AMD sold made small profits and where not growing to fast. If they had dropped out of processors they never would have made last years profits and they probably would never be able to get back in to selling CPUs. There losses would be less now, but their revenue and potential for profits would be a lot less. I don't think there shares would be priced any higher right now (adjusted for the split that may not have occured if it wasn't for last years profits and stock price increase).
