No. I think it is ridiculous to compare someone from 3000 years ago with someone today. The times are not at all comparable.

On Joshua, I suggest you read some modern books on the early history of the area - The Bible Unearthed, for example. Archeological studies seem to indicate the events described in the book of Joshua are largely mythical. You shouldn't have a problem with this, being an agnostic and therefore not a Biblical literalist.
