Only because there seem fewer nuts here than on the others. Where else would we find an inscrutable Finn who drops crypic wisdom;, a 60's wannabe from Kashmir, Australia and Dubai; a New Yorker who probably washes her mail in Chlorox, a few who vigorously reject Israel's legitimacy; others who defend it vigorously; a plethora of born-again armchair military analysts; newly-mined sites such as Debka and Stratfors; an aristocratic ex-Dutchman who lost his temper with the flake and thus his license to post; two Hindus who suddenly erupted in anger, sadly, at each other over memories of the ferocious bloodletting on the sub-continent 53 years ago; A Dunking Donuts king from Pakistan who writes exquisitely-sensible historical essays and a fair-minded Solomon who moderates the thread.

As a grandfather of four myself (all, unfortunately for me, living in far away places with their parents) I salute and congratulate you on the birth of your grandchild.

n. b. For the remainder of the week, Ken, I will have my nose buried in the Racing Form, irreverently known in horse talk as The Bible. Saturday is the Breeder's Cup from Belmont. It's the biggest day in racing outside of the Triple Crown. But to make this applicable to the thread, The sheiks and princes of Arabia will be there in droves, racing their best stock for the honor of their motherlands.
One Prince, by the way, donated $500,000 to the Keeneland fund for New York's fallen police and firemen. He just wrote the check and wasn't driven to argue a point. He's such a big buyer of yearlings that no one would have argued with him anyway.
