OTTAWA, and SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ:JDSU; Toronto: JDU) today reported sales for its first quarter ended September 29, 2001 of $329 million. Sales for the quarter were 45% below sales of $601 million reported for the quarter ended June 30, 2001. The Company had earlier announced that sales for the quarter would be approximately $325 million.... ....Guidance -- The Company anticipates sales for the second quarter will be approximately ten to fifteen per cent below the first quarter as the downturn in the Company's markets continues. #reply-16559295
