Paul,
ReYou must never have heard of Dan Gillmor - the COMMUNIST jackal on the San Jose Mercury News.

He hates Microsoft even more than Intel !

Just what the Valley needs - Editors who trash the successful companies - many of which do a LARGE business in the Valley.

Exactly. Maybe something like if the Detroit press continually slammed the auto industry. Just one person in the house that keeps the Murky News subscription, ain't me.

Tony

Paul,

Mossberg (Personal Technology WSJ column) has been saying for years that all most people need is an Internet Appliance. Whenever a new onw comes out, he reviews it and says it's great but it doesn't do this, doesn't do that, is missing this function. I don't think it ever dawns on him that what he is describing is a PC, which you can get for slightly more than an "Appliance".

My read is he hates Microsoft and thinks microprocessors are a commodity. He always recommends getting the cheapest microprocessor you can get.

I've only read a few articles from Gillmor. He may be worse but has a smaller audience.
