Kemble is talking about an old Lotus Europa - I bought it about 10 years ago. It was in good shape but had been sitting for a long time so I took it apart completely and rebuilt it. Unfortunately taking it apart was a lot quicker than putting it back together and and my wife took to calling the buckets of parts and fiberglass body "my art project". Finally got organized a few years ago and put it back together. A beautiful car for blowing around the back roads.

I also have a Turbo Esprit V8 which is a long way from what came out of the factory, runs very high boost with water injection to keep it from melting down. At over 600 HP and 2500 Lbs, it will walk away from almost anything on the road and easily performs the old Cobra feat of 0 to 100 and back to 0 in under 10 seconds. But the Cobra was dangerous to drive in anything but a straight line, while the Esprit drives like it is on rails. I'm probably too old to be driving a car like that but who cares, it's fun when I punch it at 70 and blow through 120 before I can count to four...
