Tellabs to Provide Sprint with Global Network Enhancements NAPERVILLE, Ill., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Tellabs announced that Sprint has selected its equipment to help expand the long-distance carrier's international network into Europe and Asia, while improving the voice and voice-band data services quality for its customers in the United States. Tellabs' optical networking equipment will be used by Sprint to support private line services and local access in potentially up to 15 cities including Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Milan, Munich, Paris, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Tokyo. In the United States, Tellabs' voice and voice-band data echo cancellation equipment will provide added cost efficiencies for Sprint by offering a smaller footprint at reduced costs. Tellabs' voice-quality enhancement solution, the VERITY(TM) 3100 echo cancellation system, adds 30 percent more echo cancellation channels without requiring additional central office space.
