Hoaxes should be dealt with severely. Shortly after 9-11, some jerk Doctor on a fishing vacation in Sitka made the assertion that if he didn't get his luggage on demand he would come back as an assassin. He probably didn't think he would be taken seriously, but he was arrested and charged by the local authorities. The [Alaska equivalent of the] DA refused to prosecute, to the great chagrin of both Alaska Airlines and the arresting law enforcement agency. The doctor apologized, but Alaska Airlines refused to fly him back to Seattle, and banned him for life from flying on any of their aircraft. The doctor hopped a med-evac flight back to Seattle, where upon he was separated from his job.
