Yep, they're transferring across from Oman - we just had a big joint exercise there. It was scheduled some time ago, the usefulness of the location was just pure coincidence.

Less Marines than first indicated, though - 200 now, 400 more on standby (but from the UK) from next week. A lot of them haven't been home (i.e., back in the country) for some months, apparently, so they're getting a brief break...

Ironically the exercise itself didn't go as well as planned - because some of the naval support, and some of the crack troops and logistical forces, were rather suddenly relocated ahead of schedule...
