The only program I had which gave me trouble was some software for a Matrox "rainbow runner" card - that card turns your PC into a TV / VCR. Matrox never did drivers for Win2K and it apparently did some direct stuff with the hardware which XP didn't like. Aside from that, no problems at all.

I think there is a utility on the Microsoft web site which will tell you if you have any incompatible stuff. I didn't use it, being somewhat of a cowboy when it comes to upgrades.
