OK, bien: L'Anglaise, quand on la parle avec un accent Français, peut être vraimente ravissante...

And that must be the first sentence I've written in French for almost 20 years. I wonder if I got everything right..? LOL.

Well, Poet, first I'm relieved that you didn't take offense.

I was partly inspired by the young man I told you about a while ago who came to the point of telling his parents he was gay. He did this after college ... not by letter, though. His parents suspected, but we're not really sure until the announcement. The words I used were entirely my own imagining of how it might be said.

I was also inspired by seeing in a bookstore, "Sex for One: the Joy of Selfloving," which I understand is a best-seller. This is a graphic endorsement of masturbation. Probably you know of it. (Oops -- not implying anything there!)

Anyway, I agree with you and Thames. I would be quite astonished at the second letter, although in truth it is only another sexual preference. Truly, I would be bowled over by the thought of my child choosing it. But that was my whole point -- why should we be any less accepting of one or the other?

In my own heart, I continue to believe that any sexual preference is best kept a private, personal matter.

Thanks for playing along with my idea -- I think we all need to challenge our thinking in such exercises.
