Yes, but the Athlon is fa--

Oh, wait. I remember this time. P4+i845 vs. Tualeron. ;)

I am confused about the configuration about the Celeron system. The Celeron is using PC133 memory, but the article implies that both the memory and bus is being run at 100MHz. Is this the case, or am I mistaken?

Now, it is totally valid to test at 100MHz bus (though I would prefer tests with 100MHz cpu bus and 133MHz memory bus, if the VIA board that supports this proves to be faster than the i815 board), but I think that we were trying to discern performance at like memory frequency. If the Celeron tested was undermemoried, it may be more competitive with the P4+i845.

Still, I agree with your essential theorem that the P4-1.50+i845 is at least competitive with the fastest Celeron. I would like to check it out in more detail. Can you perchance lend me your Pentium 4 and Celeron systems?

PS: Ah, well, it was worth a try. ;)

PPS: Did I mention that povray will be optimized with the Intel compiler? I will try to find out if it achieved any reasonable performance improvement, and I will perhaps compare it against those optimized povray 3.1 binaries.
