Not sure I saw the Frontline special, but have seen and read similar things, and there seemed to be a concerted effort to discredit Lebed (was that his name?) the Soviet general who claimed the suitcase bombs were missing. Whether or not they were missing, hopefully their reliability is now so low that they would not detonate. There is a 10-year life to some of their nuclear components, which is up just about now. They could still be used, however, as dirty bombs, just spreading a bit of radioactivity around.
