Jim, let's just say that I have no intention of supporting the McMannis Benchmark Seal of Approval Rating. Your idea of a good and fair benchmark represents anything that the Pentium 4 does not score well in.

Decompressing a file is a rather intensive operation and doesn't really parallel at all with timing word processor loads. A more applicable parallel would perhaps be compiling code.
