His PR people told him that his down home approach was an asset, and he should run with it. Thus the Evil Doer being the most frequent phrase in the press, replacing the popular term of last year, Recession. In fact, creating the Homeland office and appointing Ridge reduced the amount of Press related overhead that Bush had to endure.

IMO, Bush needs more time to consider the massive data flows, and geopolitical alternatives. Spinning his wheels for the press is a waste of both parties time. Ari seems quite adept at handling the redundant questions of reporters aiming for a newsworthy quote or tidbit of info to fulfill their quota.

This is pure speculation, btw.
