Vietnam would be the same country today had we won/lost the Vietnam War: a third-world nation with 90 million people. So the question becomes "at what price victory?" Vietnam was officially "lost" when Walter Cronkite told the American people that the Pentagon was using smoke and mirrors and lies to justify the continuation of hostilities there.
