Ohhhhh, I thought JC's second letter was communicating the desire to be a masturbator to the exclusion of others forever.

Hey, I'm trying to talk up the joys of masturbation with all my poetic zeal to my kids. They think I'm a riot. :-(

That's a very honest answer, X, and you deserve respect for that.

I disagree, but this is an issue where we each can only state our own feelings and then agree to disagree.

I feel that as a society, and consequently as parents, we are losing our ability to be judgmental about most everything that goes on. I think parents need to be judgmental, and need to exercise judgment to know when to be judgmental with respect to their children's actions and choices. If my daughter told me that she was electing to be a life-long drug user, I would be very judgmental in my response. As to the masturbation choice, I would be judgmental in the sense that I would not be supportive in any way, and I would act on the belief that it was my parental responsibilty to argue as best I could against that life choice.

Hmmmm ... On second thought, I believe I would turn that problem over to Mrs. JC. <ggg>
