i have a funny word story

i was at a greek resaurant with family - greeks - and i noticed that they were beginning to put the chairs up

to show off my greek - i attempted to ask the waiter "are you closing?" - e clasas?

his immediate response was - okee awoh - e si? (not me, did you?)

i should have asked "na cleesis?" as opposed to "did you fart?"

needless to say the family still enjoys reminding me of this

(apologize for the poor phonetic spellings)

No I looked it up. But I would immediately assume it meant anything if I didn't know the word. That's my general rule. Know the word, or if not, wait until you have looked it up.

Any one remember Lotus Development? They chose lawyers to protect their menu commands against Borland (#2), instead of hiring engineers to write for Windows. Ooops. They did keep the #2 company from gaining any more market share. While MS cleaned their clocks.
