GWB, almost by right of birth, has put an experienced team in, ... Glad you noticed that. Born a Republican.... :) I think we saw what kind of man Gore is in Florida. He tried to steal the election. Everybody forgets the morning after election day; James Baker pleading publicly with the Democrats not to flood Florida with lawyers...little did he know that the Democrats already had dozens there, and hundreds on the way. There's a tug of war going on between State and Defense... I think this is mostly juicy gossip. Mr Powell knows Defense as well or better than anyone there. They were all under his command at one time. I think his love of diplomacy and coalitions as ends in themselves reflects muddled thinking and amounts to appeasing and rewarding terrorism, something we can very ill afford right now. You're talking about a man who sat in the Kremlin while Mikhail Gorbachev asked him: "How does it feel now that you have lost your best enemy." You're talking about a man who has commanded the most powerfull destructive organization in the history of this planet. You're talking about a man who admittedly has found the deepest, most secret closet in the Pentagon; Just to brainstorm senarios that the leaders of this country didn't want anyone to even know we were thinking about. You're talking about a man who knows the end of most all possible war senarios. A man who would much rather get the majority against an enemy of man, than to possibly have to end up wiping out entire countries. There are some men in this world. If given absolute power, would say to themselves: "Woe is me" .... Colin Powell is one of those men. You do realize that this planet could have the face wiped clean. And we would still have the ability to launch one nuclear missle every 5 minutes for something like 13 hours straight. Please correct me if I'm wrong on our submarine capabilities. BirdDog
