You don't follow your own advise and ignore me....you know why....cause there's a lot of important information I post...I am the lone voice to counter your calls....I've been too busy with work lately and can't spend much time following you...when I do I'll be back....

Hi Zeev,

Yes, I know you never posted on Bre-X, and I didn't mean to imply that you had. There were other windmills to tilt, far too many really, and no one can charge them all. You saw more action than most.

My post of the Bre-X saga and pointing folks to the thread was to depict the cult mentality that can develop on some threads and the hype that accompanies it. Others like GIFS, could be put on display for the reassuring verbiage that often pervades these players (from that thread's header "People ! Wake up ! GFCI is a real thing !!!"). I haven't seen much about doing DD on companies lately - perhaps because I don't cruise SI much, perhaps because short term trading on TA doesn't require it.

There are difficulties in determining and publishing an investment fraud, and certainly the attempt involves dangers of liability (just the hassle of a legal defense is chilling), despite truth being a defense. Most don't possess the analytical abilities to take a balance sheet apart or the skeptical nature pull the curtain aside to see who the Wizard really is. I recall, with admiration, your trip to the desert to examine the process of extracting PGM's from dirt and your development of the term "floorless convertible". You've earned your spurs and the right to sit by the fire. Thanks for continuing to teach.

Peace and Justice --- Patrick

Zeev:

What is your take on the argument that since tech was responsible for most of the excess investment in the boom phase, the rebound in tech will lag non-tech when the cycle turns.
