that actuallly just adds fuel to the issue in that an imperial colonialist power Britain was arbitarily making the decisions--

Only if you are someone naturally inclined to have an anti-Israeli bias...

Objective analysts ackowledge that the British pretty much reshaped the entire Ottoman Empire pretty much as they wished, in order to reward those Arab tribal leaders who were instrumental to defeating the Turks in the first place.

I mean, just think about it for a moment and ponder this HUGE PIECE of former Ottoman Empire being arbitrarily sectioned off, with tribes and races throughout the region all vying for their own personal kingdoms, with the losers being subjugated to some other power.

Look at all the Arab Shiite Muslims who were subjugated to Sunni Saudi and Iraqi control!!!!! Didn't they deserve their own "homeland" too??!!!

Look at predominantly Sunni Syria, control by a small elite segment of Alawites (a Shiite offshoot)....

Look at all the Coptic Christians who were subjugated to Egyptian rule, and ongoing repression, occurring even today....

Israel is HARDLY the only nation in the region that "road on the coattails of British imperialism"..

And all the British did was substitute a short-term governorship, from what had been 400 years of Ottoman imperialism.

Too many people are believing this BS that Israel is an imperialist power. It would serve everyone well, were they to compare Israel's actions to those of its neighboring Arab states before leaping to judgement.
