Sure you were. That's your MO, the same one you always use. Make an accusation and then claim to be misunderstood. No, you're not evil but that leaves a lot of other unpleasant possibilities that are only slighly elevated.

Perhaps hatred is an appropriate sentiment to the occasion of another's superiority.
