Thanks. That clarifies things a bit. Anyway, the things that the online hardware guys are selling are a better deal than the retail version. They call them OEM versions, whether they are or not. One caution for those considering this option is that the full "OEM" version does not offer an upgrade option. It assumes you have a blank partition you want to install to.

PS The little sticker with the hologram and activation code does say "OEM Product".
