They can't discipline any of them, they can't kick them out. First of all, expel the worst. If they grow up, they can get GEDs. Put the others on "academic probation." If they act like jerks, expel them to. Now you have a school for those who want to learn something.

Attendance is mandatory by law. That does not mean that the state must continue to allow troublemakers to attend. Expel them. Life is tough.

I agree with what you're saying. Many urban school districts are having a difficult time finding principals and assistant principals for the reasons you describe.
