We don't need nuclear weapons in Afghanistan. It's hard enough to find worthwhile targets with conventional weapons. What we need is patience, and the good fortune to convince local residents to root out the bin Laden infection themselves. I'm not opposed to using our own ground troops. They are the best there is, but in my mind whether to use them it is a military decision. Political support would be helpful.
