Hi DK, I have seen that most all of the new computers now have Windows XP. It looks like it will cost around $100 to upgrade to the Home Version. I am going to try and look around today and see what is available for an upgrade or update.

The computer is only P2. I do not have any kids but am planning on sending it to the Phillipines if I can so that the kids over there in Tess's family will have something to learn on.

It sounds as though you are very happy with the XP system. I will let you know what I end up doing. Hopefully I will have something set up over the weekend.

It sounds as though your Dad will be happily surprised. It Would be nice if everyone else went out and bought their Christmas presents a little early to help make those company earnings reports shine a little brighter.

Thanks for your help DK! Sincerely, Bob :^)

he's got an ancient Pent II laptop ....

You know Dave, in the 1950's and 1960's, a car that was more than three years old was considered "ancient". Detroit made such crappy cars that you just about had to replace them after five years anyway.

Then the Japanese started making cars that drank less gas AND lasted 8 - 10 years. Almost put Detroit out of business.

Cuz the consumer finally voted with their pocketbooks and wallets.

Something to think about.
