Looks like the P4 performance myth is now being exposed...INTC's only response now is continuance of the repetitive cycles of P4 price reductions until P4 price/performance attains a realistic level...It's any body's guess as to what realistic P4 pricing is but given its unproven track record vs. Athy's 2 year enviable track record, one might argue that P4/Athy XP price parity might even be rather generous...

Pravin, another interesting thing to look at is application load times, which are slightly faster under Pentium 4.

Chances are that consumers wouldn't notice the difference between a score of 47 or 53 on Winstone, but they would notice if a Pentium 4 loads their applications faster than an Athlon.
