<<Joe is a class act>> ... many Penn State fans were unhappy when PSU accepted an invitation to join the "BigTen" in early 1987 ... I was thrilled ... to become directly associated with some of the best academic institutions in the country (Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Northwestern, etc) was a definite upgrade by association ... especially after Syracuse, and to some extent Pitt and BC kept us out of the "Big East" ... and it never would have happened without Paterno ... ... my wife and I received our undergraduate degrees there in 1965 and 1966 and have been married since December, 1964 ... she is a glutten for punishment, you know ... <g> ... ... we have had seasons tickets for Nittany Lion football since 1984 ... on the 40 yard line, half way up on the press box side ... although we attend infrequently, as we live an hour north of Boston ... ... maybe you and I can do the PSU - Wisconsin game in two years ...
