Dear Marcos. I understand your defense of new-comers to this country and mostly agree that the large percentage do indeed want to make a better life for themselves and be part of this country in their own way. That being said , what many Canadians ( both with long heritage and more recent arrivals ) are concerned about ,is the ease at which so called " refugees " are permitted to abuse an over -stretched and ill-funded system to their advantage. I say this from personal knowledge in discussing freely with some of my Asian friends these very same concerns.In fact, it is often those very people who are first to question these policies , at least when they don't have to be publicly vocal and " cause a fuss " <g> Dianne F. is merely putting to print what many Canadians are thinking but are loathe to pronounce publicly for fear of being labeled R-A-C-I-S-T by the thought Gestapo from the East.Remember...it's OK to be a French racist , just don't try that stuff if your from the West. These Easterners will get their come-upins one day when some $%^&* takes out the CN Tower or the subway system or the parliament buildings in the name of Allah or whatever they decide to hide behind at the time. Dianne F. asks repeatedly....... WHO ARE THEY?........WHERE ARE THEY ? Indeed......inquiring...and maybe fearful... minds would like some answers right about now. You see marcos......those who were born into Canada or for that matter...arrived here legitimately with the proper back ground checks...feel the system is failing them.They see the figures of 25,000 +++++ new claimants living amongst them and not knowing a thing about their past history as a threat.You can come from ANY country in the World to Canada and say your were persecuted for whatever reason and...... PRESTO!...you're in!.....Tooooooooooo Eeeeaasy... Now we have this bill C-11 ( interesting number, eh? <g> ) that indeed has been S-E-V-E-N Y-E-A-R-S I-N T-H-E M-A-K-I-N-G fer cripes sakes.And that POS brain dead Lib> Eleanor Caplin is touting this as an answer to 9/11.IT's NOT! I just wonder how much longer this POS bill would have traveled the halls of complacency in Ottawawa between the Liberal Senate and the Liberal House and the Liberal Lawyer lobby groups and the Liberal bleeding hearts and the Canadians for Refugees committees and every other self serving interest group that stood to gain from maintaining the status quo, lest those who DARE question be labeled R - - - - -. It's a GODDAM MESS marcos...infact..the whole country is a mess.Time to take out the garbage me thinks , but the current band of sanitary engineers just keep falling off the garbage truck. What's really needed in Canada is TOTAL POLITICAL REFORM. A system of checks and balances and answerability that goes beyond jeering and taunting in that sad excuse for a Government that occupies its time and space at an every increasing cost year in and year out. Canada is a great little country marcos...but it could be one heck of a lot better given the resources and knowledge base we enjoy.We are reaching third world status here and will and should be ignored by what may have been our peers should things have been different. So now WE ( immigrants,refugees and All ) are sending our boys and girls off to the hinterlands to fight the very thing we allow without regard in our own back yards.YEP....send us yer terrorists , we'll send you our sons and daughters.Free trade I guess.Maybe you don’t have a problem with this?I say “ If you don’t have a legitimate right to be here , you don’t have rights here either..off you go now … Ta ta… “ PS: Re : your wife…. Give her my congrats….if she will accept them from a Clown from Outer Space…. heh heh heh. Many new-comers have a problem with the tax level , maybe she didn’t realize Canada was a Socialist French Protectorate before she arrived? SHAME ON YOU MACROS………. Shalom!
