Soros, read once again that long litany of what yo wrote and ask yourself two questions, can it get worst? If your answer is "yes", than you are talking about a depression, and I don't believe we are heading into one. If you answer is no, then the end of te current bear may not be that far. Also read my April 2000 "very long term" outlook. I have pointed you to that post once before.

If I read one more post comparing our economy and recession to Japan's economic problems, I think I'll puke. There is NO comparison between their situation and ours -- many of their problems are unique to Japan, particularly: (1) their unwillingness to let failing banks collapse; (2) the staggering debtload banks in Japan have; (3) the collapse of the Japanese real estate market.
