Washington Post reports today ...Pakistani agents have handed to US authorities a suspect in the October 2000 attack in Yemen on the US destroyer Cole, the Washington Post reported Sunday, citing Pakistani government sources in Karachi.

The suspect -- identified as a Yemeni microbiology student Jamil Qasim Saeed Mohammed, 27 -- is an active member of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda organization, Pakistani agents told the Post.

Mohammed was secretly handed over to US authorities early Friday, and Pakistani agents bypassed the usual extradition and deportation procedures, according to the Post.
