Re: "Which company has 78% market share ? Could it be the one who used to have 100%"

Nope.

Intel had 78% market share in the early 1990s and has maintained that since that time - at times rising even higher.

Re: "Which company has ASPs plummeted to $60 - the level during the Kmart6 days? Intel"

No. Bill - once again, you didn't bother to read AMD's quarterly report.

Allow me to assist you, Bill.

From that report, Bill, we can find:

AMD
Selected Corporate Data
(Unaudited)

Segment Breakdown Q3 '01 Q2 '01 Q3 '00
----------------- % of % of % of
Sales Revenue Sales Revenue Sales Revenue
----- ------- ------ ------- ------ -------

Core Products segment:

PC Processor
Products 61 $467M 60 $588M 52 $625M

Memory Products
(Flash) 28 210M 32 316M 35 420M

Other IC Products 8 64M 5 51M 8 99M

Voice Communications
segment 0 0 0 0 1 17M

Foundry Services
segment 3 25M 3 30M 4 46M

Now, Bill - see the part that says PC Processor Revenue was $467 Million. ?

AMD claimed to ship 7.7 Million CPUs. - YOu DO KNOW THAT, huh, Bill?

So, Bill - here's the simple math - I hope you can follow it:

$467,000,000/7,700,000 CPUS = $60.65/CPU

That's right, Bill - AMD 's ASP was measley $60.65/CPU
