Eric L: As an elder, but certainly not a "thread elder", it is with joy that I associate myself with your points in this post of yours. A pleasure.

For those of us who appreciate useful analysis, such as Don's, there is always the opportunity to comment or to suggest some modifications, but the core work is very helpful.

Bricks thrown do nothing.

Best as always, and thanks for weighing in on this.

Eric,

Oh, wow. So we are back to "no critique" mode?

And you decided to respond to me instead of
answering Mucho's questions? I was an easier target?

Thank you so much for your belief in my
vulnerability.

>You are also guilty of not reading the manual.

Well, I have said it once and will say it again.
I have not read it and will not read it.
Unless I think, I will get something out of it.
Which I don't think right now.
I know the general principles of the manual.
I consider the fine details totally irrelevant
hair splitting - paraphrasing Buffett -
"if you have to discuss 3 months if a company is
a Gorilla, it is not". Actually, that was one of
the reasons I did not like Don's posts, if you care
to know.

However, I have invested in G&Ks and will continue
to do so, so I may continue lurking and posting
on this thread. I did learn something here, but most
from other valuationists.
I also learned some company names that I will follow
and invest or not dependent on my criteria.
Thanks for all that.

<< maybe they can also tell me why QCOM as a company is better than KO? Nah, let's skip it... :-(((( >>
>Yes let's.
>"The Gorilla Game" is devoted to discussions about >investing in tech.
>Last time I looked KO wasn't a tech.

And yet, if you tried to answer this question, you
will discover all the negative sides of QCOM -
the ones that you yourself openly acknowledge in your
posts. Actually, I would not ask YOU this question.
You are at least partially aware of what is wrong and
what is right with QCOM. Some others see only positives.

And that's even without going into valuation...

>Well, we'd be happy to adopt you, particularly if
> you would read the manual, stop criticizing,
>and contribute to the Gorilla Game.

Oh, thank you very much, but I don't think I am
interested in such a high-handed adoption. I think
I'll have just enough fun being an orphan.

Jurgis - please, have some fun too.
