res- In reality, we wouldn't have a free country without killing people to defend it. How do you know that? pacifism was never attempted by the US. I know what we have, and I understand how we obtained it. Since, as you say, its never been been attempted. How do you know your non-violent way would have worked? If Ghandi's path is the only right path, why have hundreds of thousands of Indians been killed since Ghandi? Why has starvation and poverty been such a problem there? Why were millions of people forced to leave sections of India into what became Pakistan? Why couldn't Hindu's live in peace with Muslims? Why does India have nuclear weapons? Why can't they live peacefully with Pakistan? If Dali Lama's path is the only right path. Why does the Dali Lama live in the United States? Why are Tibeten's persecuted and controlled by the Chinese after more than 40 years of rule? Why don't the Chinese leave Tibet? Why doesn't Tibet have it's own country? Dali Lama would be dead today if he didn't have another country to flee to. He lives behind the American wall of weapons which protects us all. Show me where your path has worked long term? Show me a nation, built and maintained on the premise of non-violence, without an army to defend itself, living prosperously. Just one....

brian, such an extreme comprehension deficit disorder. Ok brian says. How do you know that? pacifism was never attempted by the US. Every year in America unarmed Americans are murdered. I'd say over 90% were not fighting back. The were in effect doing pacifism. The slaves killed in America, again 99% died in pacifism. You say "Millions do live in Bondage, Tyranny Oppression and Slavery today as we speak all around the world. " They are all dying in pacifism. Those who are not passive give those who would enslave a reason to think otherwise. Pasicfism has been tried over and over and over. In few cases when dealing with authority based upon Western Civilization there has been success. But hundreds of millions have died because they did not resist.
