Oil is an important commodity for several countries including the US. One cannot rule out Oil being a factor in the war on Afghanistan. Look at how little resistance countries such as China and Russia have shown in objecting to US attacks on Afghanistan. They all benefit from an Oil/Gas pipeline. They must see those benefits clearly otherwise they would object to the long-term US intervention
in Afghanistan, a country that borders both China and Russia.


That was perhaps the most egregious non-sequitor I have ever seen posted on SI. You have shown no logical link whatsoever in drawing your unwarranted conclusion. One cannot rule out little green men from Mars being a factor in the war on Afghanistan, either. Does that prove that there are little green men from Mars? I suspect you think so.
