How healthy is the economy today? The economy is structurally still quite sound. Absent the war on terrorism, we would probably kind of kick into a recovery, a pretty strong one, probably midway though next year. The uncertainty is, How much of a damper will the war on terrorism be? It's uncertain, a kind of partial paralysis. A. Michael Spence was recently awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics. What markets suffer most from is disparity in information. forbes.com (That reminds me it appears the insiders have been buying in some sectors.)
