I'm with you... If someone can give a logical rationale for their arguments which bears some semblance to the actual reality involved, I'm all for accepting their view as worth reading, even if opposed to my own views.

I just get sick of the generalizations and conspiracy theorists who believe that US foreign policy has been on a single evil path since lord knows when....

The reality involved in shaping USFP is far more chaotic, consisting of putting our fires, and trying to find compromises that all parties are willing to accept, or giving in to unsavory political blackmail as we the case with Vietnam (where we swapped French support for Nato, in exchange for permitting France to maintain their SE Asian colonies).

And the one thing I've learned about conspiracy theories is that for every one you're sure exists, there's another one that DOES exist trying to oppose the previous one.

Some claim there are catholic conspiracies, Jewish conspiracies, muslim conspiracies, the illuminati, the masons, the mormons...... etc...etc... But the one thing they have in common is they are all opposed to one another and vying for predominance... Which indicates to me that the only conspiracy that will succeed against mankind is the self inflicted conspiracy of personal ignorance and prejudice.
