There are a lot of smart and bold people in politics and the military. What both lack is any requirement that they answer to the citizens.

Similar to the current view of warfare by many, politics has become a Nintendo game, without consequences, so the most irresponsible actions and votes can be taken, if it generates cash contributions or media attention.

My hope and belief is that eventually adult supervision will appear in both politics and military when full disclosure takes hold in government, and citizens become more fully aware of how their pockets are being picked by foreign and domestic thieves, and how military strategies are cooked up by those who neither have nor ever will enter the battlefield, for campaigns that have nothing to do with US national interest.

But that won't happen until they become honorable professions. Do you think that's likely anytime soon?
