Street,

It is simple. Today it is a feel good "lets get the people who blew up the WTC" legislation. Tomorrow this legislation will be used against ANY terrorist, real or perceived.

Gun Rights supporter? Why, you may very well be part of the militia. We have the right to enter your home illegally(now legal), tap your phones, count your keystrokes, whatever the hell we want because of this new bill. W just screwed the majority of people who elected him and Ashcroft guided it home. Less than a year & Bush is riding the "safety net" of the Second Amendment while taking away lots of other privacies and liberties.

Scary stuff.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. I understand and prefer freedom over safety, but I just don't believe that Ashcroft and Bush are interested in a One World Government. As long as we have the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, we will be OK. That's why it is absolutely vital that we not slack off on our defense of those two pillars of our nation. As I read the terrorism bill the people who will be most impacted are not even American citizens. I do not believe that we have much of an obligation to them.
