John,

That was not a genteel post. You used the words "suck" and "crappy".

Quite inappropriate for this very sensitive audience.

John

Re: "Why would I buy a crappy 1000 MHz Celeron laptop from BestBuy with a 13" display when I can buy a much-faster Duron 900 system with a 14" display for $50 less?"

Who cares what you would buy?

You're an AMDroid - your purchasing decisions are fixed.

Ask yourself why IBM, Dell, Gateway, Tiny Computers of England, etc. sell nothing but Intel-based CPUs.

People buy what is available - and Intel-based PCs are the most WIDELY AVAILABLE - no matter what Sunday Flyers you stick your head into.

I disagree. Mobile Celerons are far better than your average desktop Celeron. These are based on the Tualatin core, have 256KB of L2 cache, and a 133Mhz FSB. The 900MHz Duron would get whipped by one of them.
