Bill,

I can see that you are as passionate about Flutie as I am. The only reason that I can explain my passion for this player is that Flutie is the ultimate underdog. Throughout his career he was never given a chance. There was always one excuse after another why he was undeserving of his job as QB. Despite the fact that he has proven everyone wrong time and time again, he is still referred to as the "alsoran".

He's too short, his arm is weak, he's too old were excuses given from the establishment to justify his banishment from the league. He has overcome this liabilities and yet gets no credit. Now the excuse we hear is that he never won a SuperBowl. That latest excuse is an effort to undermine his greatness. Need I remind everyone that he had a chance at taking the team to the SuperBowl only to be betrayed by his very own team who benched him in the playoffs.

Time unfortunately has run out for Flutie. The Chargers are far from being SuperBowl contenders. And in one or two years, if and when the Chargers improve, Flutie's legs will have aged too much for him to continue his Magic.

It is sad that he will never get the respect that he so much deserves.

Vince

<<because guys who think like you blackballed him from the NFL.>>

LOL! Settle down there Bill. What is Flutie your brother?

<<And when you evaluate his career, be sure to include his six Grey Cups and eight MVP awards in Canada>>

Gee should we include his YMCA stats in there too. Come on the CFL doesn't compare to the NFL and you know it.

<<Flutie doesn't care about QB rating, even though he's very high this year.>>

LOL......at 87 (a very high year in your book) he is just about to the average of Favre and Marino. Dood I like Doug Flutie but quit making him out to be something he is not. He's average at best which isn't bad from a guy who's 5'9.
