This is a first, but I am going to quote your entire post back at you. You might as well be writing press releases for Osama bin Laden.

The fact is, whatever the percentage chance of success it is definitely more difficult now than it was before 9/11 to attack the U.S. Also, if there is an attack, the response this time around is going to be far stronger than what you are seeing in Afghanistan.

As for my understanding of the fanatics, well, fortunately I have never met them, but as you are new on the scene here it would make more sense for you to read my past posts on this subject before making any hasty judgments.

I am the last person to underestimate this threat. I take it very, very seriously, but I am not going to sit back and cry about fanatics attacking my country; no, I am thinking of ways to attack the attackers, so that they will find the price to heavy too pay. If that involves razing an Arab city to prove our point, then that is the cost we will have to bear, and live with it. The terrorists are fanatics, yes, but they are fanatics with a goal. If they are taught that they have no chance of achieving these goals then I believe we can rout them. That lesson will have to be strong and public.

Instead of slamming both fists down on the PANIC trigger, maybe you will add some ideas here. I for one am not afraid of terrorists. The only thing I am afraid of is that when this is over we may be forced to use nuclear weapons against Arab capitals, and that would be very, very sad.

Finally, we posted the Pentagon call for Homeland Defense proposals here last week. I am working on my small contribution. When it is complete and I have sent it to DOD I will post it here in its entirety. The proposal does not need "OpSec" as they say to succeed. It will be public. It will be devastating to terrorist organizations here and abroad - not to mention all other criminals.

You are in denial. It will be just as easy to attack us.
Warnings mean nothing. They are non-specific and only increase the fear and sense of helplessness.

The reason it will continue to be like shooting fish in a barrel for the terrorists is simple. There is an enormous number of large fixed infrastructure targets in a vast wealthy country like America. And a huge variety of ways to disable or destroy them and the surrounding population.

Even the conservative estimates of the FBI are there were 1,000 extreme Islamic militants inside the US as of shortly after 9/11 and that some are certainly moles in deep cover planted over the years. Reason it out. Even if just 1 in 5 is a suicide attacker that's dozens more major attacks all over this country.

Nor will they think twice about continuing massive terror attacks against us. You don't seem to understand the mentality of the people we're fighting. They don't care if a million men invade the ME. They are fanatics. They are prepared to die. In fact, they welcome it, as they have been brainwashed into believing they're going to paradise.
