Thanks Claude, and i will guess its like those scientists shown
on tv programs at the South or North Pole taking ice samples from
the top layer down many meters that represent large lapses in time.

Not sure if i remember correctly but someone on the GPM thread
noted an url to web site that had the basics explained for mining activity.

Could have been a simple extra found on a specific mining company
as i did post elsewhere a mining company i have no shares held in
that had a "game" on its company web site that let you "play" geologist
using the type of results that have been found in the past and have you
decide what they mean, and later see actual results.

Maybe Bob Johnson's web site has a page explaining terms used
in both mining and the financial/investment literature.

One of my pennies got reversed split 5:1 and joined into
another penny mining company.
