Re: "Intel should reimburse all involved, recall all failing chipsets and bring the offending chipsets up to standard. And so what if it takes a big loss. Its the right thing to do"

Just like AMD did with their K6's and AtHwipers that can't display proper JPEG Images?

Where was your RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION and a call for AMD to RECALL those DEFECTIVE CPUs ?

After all - that WAS the RIGHT thing to DO - wasn't it?

Pete, That would be correct, the race to speed with lower op voltages and smaller feature sizes makes 3.3 a punchthrough potential.
I am sure new installs are OK as new boards conrofm, but some poor guy who buys a mobo and upgrades....well, Intel points at the rules and says 'no return'.

This is another way to hurt the SD shops and force people towards dell.
The SD shops will learn this and it will cost them a few mobos, but they will learn.

Could be a class action lawsuit here as the information was not properly disseminated to all, and yet was probably told to dell and some large OEMS.
