Hi D. Long; It's not that Raymond thinks that the struggle against the USSR was not real, they thought it was wrong.

They may deny it now, but I'm old enough to remember. The sad fact is that there is always going to be a 10%. The (temporarily) happy fact is that right now it's only 10%.

Raymond seems to think the same forces that fueled Imperialism were the same as those in the Cold War.

They were the same. Two Imperial powers (US & USSR) were fighting a global turf war.
