Well, I'm not suggesting dogtags for children; I do believe children need to know some things and it can be done without creating fear. I'm also no survivalist, so I'm not out digging any shelters.

I think it would help younger children to know specific trusted neighbors to go to in case Mom and / or Dad gets "hung up at work" ...

Older children can obviously deal with more complex, darker areas of concern.

I think the Red Cross' point is don't wait until you "have to" because then it's too late ..... it's reaction, not planning.

Peace ... JB

Weren't you taught to duck and cover? Guess you young'uns were taught more sophisticated methods, as if it would have made any difference.
