tdl4138,

That is so true. About 8 years ago I built my own house(modular) in Rockaway NJ. I acted as the general contractor, but hired one to do the leg work. My total cost, except land was $67psf, and that included foundation, all utility hookups, appliances, carpeting, complete. Only thing not included in that price was the patio/deck, landscaping.

It just amazes me what people think homes are really worth. Not to call it a true bubble, but reminds me of how so many never thought that the market would drop. Just a bit more than a year ago, I remember clearly the words - NASDAQ 8000

45 to 60 dollars a foot! Don't make laugh. Pre manufactured homes are the closest thing your going to find at those prices maybe ten years ago. And most cities wouldn't let you set one down.
Drive through any town worth living in and count the number of slap together pre manufactured homes. You'll only need one hand.
Why not live in a trailer?
