ENE's derivative exposure in the energy markets has been speculated at up to 40% of all outstanding trades. Not sure what that amounts to in real dollars but I'm going to guess it isn't chump change.

After some of the E&P conference calls I've listened into it would appear there is no love lost for Enron. I sense they feel ENE has manipulated the futures market in both directions. Of course producers didn't scream to loudly when gas was at $10, but oh lordy when she went under $2 you could hear the yelling even here in Portland.

Maybe the play in ENE is by way of one of the preferreds. Of course one might want to wait and see if things settle down a bit.
